As being the reality of the 21st century, E-Governance is the main mechanism, ensuring the the activities of the world governments and increasing its efficiency. E-Governance has already been established in a number of countries of the world, but some countries are just in the beginning of taking the advantage of this unique tool. In the countries of Central Europe, “Asian Tigers”, South-Eastern Asia the governments are rather succesful in this amplua. 
ABOUT PROJECT
The “National E-Governance Network Initiative” Project is a platform project for moving forward the e-government agenda in Azerbaijan. The initiation of the project in July 2004 is the outcome of the commitment of the Republic of Azerbaijan to development of e-government on the one hand and a strong support from the United Nations Development Programme that views development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure in general and e-government in particular as a key component in realization of the vision of converting “black gold into human gold”, that is to use the income received from development of oil and gas resources for development of human infrastructure and knowledge-based economy.
